Pros: Being a Data Center Operations Engineer at AirTrunk in Sydney offers great learning. I've grown a lot working with advanced hyperscale data center tech. The team collaboration is strong, and it's a stable industry for career development. The pay and benefits are competitive too, which is a big plus.
Cons: The rapid growth means it's super fast-paced, which can lead to busy periods. Sometimes, processes feel a bit behind, and getting approvals can take longer than ideal. Work-life balance can be a challenge during these peak times, but generally it's manageable.

Pros: I've really enjoyed my time at AirTrunk, a leader in the hyperscale data centre space. The team in Sydney is incredibly supportive, and there's a strong focus on collaboration. I've learned a ton about critical infrastructure and new technologies thanks to the fast-paced environment and exposure to complex systems. It's a company that's growing quickly, which means lots of chances to develop your skills and take on new challenges in digital infrastructure. The work is always engaging.
Cons: The rapid growth at AirTrunk, while exciting, sometimes means processes aren't fully established, which can lead to a bit of ambiguity. Communication between different sites or departments could be more streamlined. Also, being in data centre operations, it's often an onsite role, so work flexibility isn't always high, and busy periods can be demanding. Career progression sometimes feels a little less structured than I'd prefer, but opportunities are definitely there if you look for them.
Advice to Management: Keep focusing on refining internal processes and communication channels, especially as the company continues to expand rapidly across the APAC region. More structured career development paths would also be a great benefit for employees in roles like Data Centre Technician.

Pros: As a Project Engineer in the Sydney office, I've had a decent hybrid work arrangement. We generally get 2-3 days WFH, which helps a lot. It's solid for non-onsite roles in hyperscale infrastructure.
Cons: The work-life balance here sometimes gets tough during critical data center project phases. You can't always fully utilize the work flexibility when deadlines hit. There's often a push for more onsite time than planned.
Advice to Management: Really try to stick to the agreed-upon hybrid schedules, even when projects get intense. Trust your teams more for remote work, especially for non-physical tasks.
