Decent for contract work, but watch the hours
Pros: For IT staffing, you get decent exposure to different companies. As a Technical Consultant, the hybrid model in the Toronto office helps with flexibility. Most of the time, I could manage my 40-hour weeks.
Cons: Some projects demand a lot, making work-life balance tough. It's not always consistent, and I've had weeks where it felt like I was constantly online, affecting my home life.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize project demands a bit more to ensure better work-life balance across all contracts. Managers should actively encourage disconnecting after hours and respecting boundaries.

Leadership Can Be Hit or Miss
Pros: The work-life balance for IT Recruiter roles here is decent, especially with the hybrid work model. Compensation is pretty competitive for the Toronto market in the recruitment industry. It's a solid place to learn the ropes in IT staffing.
Cons: Leadership often struggles with a consistent vision for the company. Communication from the top can be really vague, which makes it tough to prioritize. There's not enough mentorship or clear career pathing for senior recruiters, especially when things change direction.
Advice to Management: Work on improving internal communication and setting clearer, long-term goals. Invest in leadership training to help managers better support their teams, especially in the competitive IT staffing sector. A more defined career progression plan would also help retention.

Okay flexibility for IT consulting roles
Pros: Being an IT Consultant here, I really appreciated the remote options available for a lot of projects. It's a big staffing firm, so they're used to different setups. You can often manage your own schedule pretty well if your client allows.
Cons: The 'work-life balance' can get tough because client demands sometimes mean long, odd hours. You might have flexibility on *when* you work, but not necessarily *how much*. If a client wants you onsite, that remote flexibility goes out the window.
Advice to Management: Management should push back a bit more on demanding clients to protect consultants' time. True flexibility needs real boundaries, not just variable schedules.
