Solid Tech Consulting with Good Learning Opportunities
Pros: Working here as an IT Consultant, I get to tackle interesting projects across different clients in the technology consulting industry. My colleagues are really supportive, and there's a good culture of learning and sharing knowledge. The hybrid work setup is fantastic; it really helps with maintaining a good work-life balance. I've definitely picked up a lot of new skills since joining.
Cons: Sometimes, internal career progression feels a bit slower than I'd like, especially for advancing to senior roles. Also, communication across different departments or project teams can sometimes be a bit fragmented, which can lead to minor delays. The approval process for certain internal initiatives can feel a bit bureaucratic at times.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer paths for internal career progression and look into streamlining cross-departmental communication to make sure everyone is always on the same page.

Decent balance if you manage client expectations
Pros: The hybrid model in the Boston, MA office was a big plus. You get dedicated remote work days which really helps with personal appointments. As a Technical Consultant, I generally found the 40-hour work weeks to be respected unless a project was really tight.
Cons: Sometimes client projects demand more, especially during deployment phases. It's on you to set boundaries, and it can be tough in a busy consulting firm. Career growth sometimes felt secondary to client needs.
Advice to Management: Encourage managers to actively help Technical Consultants set client boundaries. Provide more resources for burnout prevention. Make sure "work_life_balance" remains a priority for all consulting roles.

Flexible Work for IT Consultants, But Be Ready for Peaks
Pros: The work flexibility is a big plus here. As an IT Consultant, you often get a hybrid setup, which helps balance personal stuff. There's good exposure to different tech projects too.
Cons: Work-life balance can get tricky, especially when you're in a demanding project delivery phase. It's not always easy to keep to a strict 40-hour week. Sometimes you feel a bit like a cog in a big global firm.
Advice to Management: Try to enforce stricter boundaries on project hours to prevent burnout, especially for consultants working on tight deadlines. Support teams more consistently.
