Company Reviews

We are a Nordic-Indian company and support our global clients from our offices in Stockholm, Sweden; Helsinki, Finland; Bergen, Norway and Bangalore, India. Our biggest unit and technology work is in Bangalore, India. Our consulting operations and data management expertise is in Espoo, Finland. We take pride in combining the incredible dynamism and technology skills of India with the established order and efficiency of the Nordic countries and help our customers to navigate through the maze of digitalization by no-hassle services in enterprise application, data & information management, and innovative mobile & other custom solutions.

Tarento was founded in 2009 as a subsidiary of the Swedish consulting company Connecta, with the vision of building an organization that included a talent base of various advanced technologies. In 2014, we became a part of the Acando Group.

In 2016, Tarento’s management pursued a buy-out (MBO) with a strong vision of its own management led organization catering to the need of evolving digital businesses.

With the ever-growing importance of data management, especially master data management and data quality driven by the evolution of digital business models and technologies, in 2017 Tarento acquired DATPRO, a Finnish data management consultancy.

The acquisition enabled Tarento to bridge the gap between IT and business by providing a large landscape of comprehensive services due to this coupling of technology and data management competencies.

This combination of technology and data skills, added with our continuous services (Application Management Services), enables us to assist our customers in solving their core business problems.

We are privileged and proud of having tens of customers, from the largest companies until small and medium sized segment, across the Nordics and in India.

Solid Company for Software Engineers with Supportive Leadership
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time here as a Software Engineer in this IT consulting company. The leadership team fosters a collaborative environment where you can learn a lot. Colleagues are super supportive, making it a great place for career development and skill enhancement. Plus, the remote work model offers good flexibility, which is a huge bonus for work-life balance.
Cons: Sometimes, the approval processes for new tools can feel a bit slow, impacting project timelines. Also, while there are growth opportunities, promotions aren't always super quick, which can be a minor drawback for ambitious folks.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining some of the internal approval processes to enhance project efficiency. Also, clear communication around career progression paths could help manage employee expectations regarding promotions.

Decent Work-Life, But Project Demands Vary
Pros: They generally try to respect weekends, which is a big plus in IT consulting. There's some flexibility if you need to WFH occasionally, especially with their hybrid work model. It's not always rigid.
Cons: Project deadlines can get pretty intense sometimes, leading to really long hours during crunch times. It's tough to fully disconnect; you're often tied to client expectations even after hours in the Bangalore office.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize project workload better across all teams to prevent burnout for technical roles. Encourage team leads to protect employee off-hours more consistently.

Work-life Balance is Decent for Consultants
Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus. You get to WFH a few days, which really helps avoid the Bangalore traffic. As a Software Engineer, I usually hit my 40-hour weeks unless a big IT consulting project is due.
Cons: Client demands can mean late nights sometimes, especially before a release. It's not always easy to say no to extra tasks, even when you're done for the day. Project managers could be better at protecting team's time.
Advice to Management: Really encourage project managers to stick to reasonable deadlines and protect the team's personal time. Better resource planning would prevent last-minute rushes.
