Recruitment Consultant

Okay work-life balance for recruitment
Pros: As a Recruitment Consultant, I did appreciate the hybrid work model they offered. You get decent PTO, and they're somewhat flexible with morning schedules. It helps when you have personal appointments.
Cons: But honestly, it's a huge grind, especially in the tech recruitment industry. You're expected to be on constantly, with calls and emails coming in on weekends. It's tough to really disconnect sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to set more sustainable targets for your team. The constant pressure leads to burnout.

Recruiting Coordinator

Pay's okay, benefits could be better.
Pros: For a mid-sized agency, the base salary for a Recruiting Coordinator was pretty solid. I thought the 401k match was actually pretty good, which isn't always a given in the recruitment industry. It's a stable job if you're looking for that.
Cons: The health insurance plans were just okay, pretty high deductibles. There aren't many extra perks or bonuses beyond the standard for those in talent acquisition roles. It's definitely not a place you come for a generous benefits package; they could improve that a lot.
Advice to Management: Look into offering more competitive health benefits and consider adding some non-salary perks for employees. It would really help with retention in the Chicago office.

Management is a bit of a mixed bag here
Pros: My direct manager was really solid. They understood the grind for Talent Acquisition Specialists in remote tech recruiting. It's nice having that support when you're working from home.
Cons: But senior leadership? Their vision wasn't always clear for the recruitment industry. It felt like decisions came down without much warning, which can be tough for team morale.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate more clearly and consistently with the teams. It would help if you listened to your Talent Acquisition Specialists more about what's actually happening on the ground.
