Decent flexibility, but it varies a lot.

Working at TAPI was an okay experience overall. There are some good parts about working in a big corporate environment, but also things that could be way better.

Pros

As a Project Coordinator, I found there was decent work-from-home flexibility a couple days a week. It really helped manage my personal life, especially working in this large corporate environment. The ability to do hybrid work was a big plus for my daily schedule.

Cons

Full remote isn't an option for most in our Chicago office, even for many tech-focused roles. Sometimes, hybrid schedules get changed with short notice, which is a bit tough. It feels like flexibility really depends on your specific manager.

Advice to Management

Try to standardize hybrid work policies across departments. It feels pretty inconsistent right now, especially for those in client-facing Project Coordinator roles. More predictability with schedules would be a huge benefit.

Great Flexibility and Learning for Engineers
Pros: This company offers excellent work flexibility, especially with its hybrid model, which is great for work-life balance. As a Software Development Engineer, I've found plenty of learning opportunities to grow my skills in the tech industry. Colleagues are truly supportive and collaborative, making it a positive and enjoyable environment.
Cons: The promotion process can sometimes be slow, affecting career growth. Also, internal approval workflows could be more efficient to avoid project delays. Just minor points.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining internal approval processes to accelerate project timelines and explore ways to make the promotion path clearer and potentially faster for high-performing individuals.

Pay is fine for remote, benefits could improve
Pros: As a Software Engineer working remotely, the base pay is actually quite decent. It's competitive for the tech industry, especially since it's a fully remote setup. The 401k match is also a solid perk; I'm glad they offer that.
Cons: But the health benefits aren't great; plans have high deductibles. Don't expect big bonuses here, they're pretty minimal. Also, stock options aren't super generous for us non-execs.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to improve the health benefits package. Offering more comprehensive plans would make a huge difference. Also, consider enhancing the bonus structure or making stock options more attractive for all employees, especially for those in API development roles, to boost overall compensation.

Decent Work-Life, But Still Pharma
Pros: I've found the work-life balance for software engineering roles here to be pretty solid. The hybrid work model in the Tel Aviv office is a big plus. It's usually a standard 40-hour week, which is great for personal time.
Cons: Sometimes, especially during critical phases of drug development projects, deadlines get crazy. As a large corporate, it can feel like you're always catching up. Weekends are generally free, but on-call rotations can sneak up on you.
Advice to Management: Improve project planning to avoid last-minute rushes, especially for new drug development initiatives. Better communication across departments would help reduce stress and improve efficiency within this large corporate structure.
