Leadership is a Mixed Bag Here
As a Software Engineer at BCE Global Tech in Seattle, I've had a mixed experience with leadership. While direct managers are often good, the higher-ups struggle with clear communication and direction, impacting overall project success and career growth within the company's tech industry focus.
Some of the direct managers are genuinely supportive, which is great for a Software Engineer finding their footing. There's good remote work flexibility too, making WFH easier to manage for many.
Upper management in this big tech company can feel pretty disconnected from the day-to-day. It's tough to get clear strategic direction sometimes, which hurts project momentum for tech projects.
Senior leadership needs to improve communication channels and provide clearer strategic goals. Listen more to the teams on the ground, especially in the Seattle office.
