Pros: Most weeks, I'm able to stick to a pretty standard 40-hour schedule as a Junior Software Developer. The company promotes a hybrid model, so I don't have to be in the Austin, TX office every single day, which is a big plus for my personal time.
Cons: There are definitely times, especially around sprint deadlines or during on-call rotations, where things get intense. It's tough to maintain that balance when project demands suddenly ramp up. It feels like a common issue in big tech companies.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better planning and resource allocation to prevent last-minute crunch times. More predictable schedules would drastically improve work-life balance for all engineering roles.
