Pay's okay, but benefits could be better.
Swish has a decent base salary for tech, but the benefits package isn't top-tier for a startup in San Francisco. It's an okay spot for a Software Engineer looking for stability.
The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty competitive, especially for a startup. We get decent health insurance, which is a must in the San Francisco Bay Area. You won't feel totally ripped off on your paycheck.
The bonus structure isn't very clear, and raises are tough to come by. Stock options for early employees were fine, but new hires don't get much. For a tech company, the 401k match is pretty weak.
Focus on improving the 401k matching and making the bonus system more transparent for all software development roles. It would really help with retention.
