Good Hybrid Work Setup for Developers
Pros: The hybrid work structure is really great; it's 2 days in the Newcastle office, 3 remote. This works well for me as a Software Engineer. They're pretty understanding if you need to adjust your schedule for personal stuff.
Cons: Sometimes the projects can feel a bit rushed, especially in the digital product development space. Career growth isn't always super clear, and raises aren't huge. Communication from management could be better.
Advice to Management: Keep up the hybrid model, it's a major draw. Maybe look into clearer career paths and more transparent salary reviews for development roles.

Work-life balance is pretty decent here
Pros: I've found the work-life balance for a Software Engineer pretty good most of the time. The hybrid work model helps a lot, letting you mix office days in Newcastle upon Tyne with working from home. We generally stick to 40-hour weeks, which is great for personal time.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines for new mobile app development can get really tight, leading to a few longer days. It's not constant, but it does happen and can make things tough temporarily. There's not always a clear way to push back on unrealistic timelines.
Advice to Management: Try to be more realistic with project timelines, especially in mobile app development. Giving the engineering team more say in estimates would help prevent burnout.

Remote Work is Good, Security is Okay
Pros: I've really enjoyed the remote work flexibility; it's a solid perk for any Software Engineer. We get to work on diverse digital product development projects, which keeps things fresh and helps build a broad skillset. There's a decent amount of autonomy in your day-to-day.
Cons: Job security feels a bit shaky. There have been some layoffs, especially when client projects wrap up, which is tough in a tech consultancy. For many remote roles, it feels like headcount can fluctuate a lot based on demand.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more stability for employees between projects. Better communication around future staffing needs would really help reduce anxiety for remote engineers.
