Good for remote, don't expect chill nights
Pros: Being a remote Software Engineer here is good. I loved working from my home office in Texas. They've got a solid WFH policy, which is a big plus for work flexibility.
Cons: Work-life balance here isn't always great, especially for engineering. There's pressure to hit deadlines, so long hours are common. You can't really just log off at 5 PM if a sprint is tight.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic project timelines. It would really help with employee burnout.

Decent perks but culture needs work
Pros: The team is pretty smart, especially the engineering folks. There's a decent budget for learning new tools, which is good for us in the tech industry. The hybrid work model is also a plus for work-life balance.
Cons: The culture feels a bit cliquey sometimes. It's hard to get your voice heard if you're not in the "in crowd." Communication from leadership is often inconsistent, especially for those remote from Texas.
Advice to Management: Focus on fostering an inclusive culture where all voices feel valued. Improve internal communication, especially across different work arrangements.

Okay Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: My base salary as a Junior Software Engineer was pretty solid for a fintech startup in the San Francisco office. We got decent equity options, which is a nice upside. The 401k match was a good perk too.
Cons: Healthcare benefits felt pretty standard, not competitive with larger tech companies. The dental coverage was basic, and adding dependents was super expensive. It makes a difference when you're in the Bay Area.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the quality and affordability of health and dental benefits, especially for families. This would make a big difference in employee retention for San Francisco office employees.

Great learning, culture needs some work
Pros: I've learned a ton as a Software Engineer here, especially diving into our core e-commerce platform. It's a decent tech startup for gaining valuable experience if you can handle the pace.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit cliquey, particularly within the San Francisco office. It's tough to get ideas heard outside of established groups, even with our hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Really focus on making the company culture more inclusive for everyone. Try to encourage better cross-team communication and break down some of those internal silos, especially within engineering.
