Decent place to learn, tough for career moves
Pros: I learned a ton about the commodity management software industry here. For an entry-level Software Engineer, it's a good spot to get hands-on experience with complex systems and pick up real industry knowledge, especially around energy trading. The team was pretty knowledgeable.
Cons: Career growth for engineers is really slow. There aren't many clear paths to move up or switch roles. You often feel stuck in your current position, and it's hard to get promoted even with solid performance.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion criteria and more internal opportunities for growth, especially for technical roles like Software Engineer. Invest in training and development programs so people don't feel stagnant.

Work-Life Balance Is Decent, But Has Spikes
Pros: The hybrid model is solid; I don't have to be in the office daily. My team is pretty supportive, which helps when project deadlines get tight. We usually stick to a 40-hour work week.
Cons: When a big product launch is coming, the hours can get really long. As a Software Engineer, I've had to pull some late nights to hit targets. Sometimes the on-call rotation feels a bit heavy, impacting my weekends.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scope to prevent last-minute crunch times. Also, re-evaluate the on-call schedule for Software Engineer roles.

Career Growth Can Be Tough for Consultants
Pros: As an Implementation Consultant, I definitely learned a lot about commodity trading software early on. You get to work with some big names in the energy industry, which is a solid resume builder. It's a decent place for new grads to get started.
Cons: After a couple of years, though, career growth just kinda plateaus. There isn't a clear path to move up for senior roles, and it feels like promotions are super rare. You don't always get new challenges that help you grow, especially in the Houston, TX office.
Advice to Management: Please invest in clearer career progression plans for your consultants. Provide more structured mentorship and opportunities for advanced training. We want to grow with the company, not just stay put.
