Operations Specialist

Leadership Is Okay, But Room to Grow
Pros: The pay is usually decent for an Operations Specialist in the grain processing industry. My direct supervisor is often pretty supportive. You get solid job security working for a large, established company like this.
Cons: Upper leadership feels pretty disconnected from the manufacturing floor. They make decisions that don't always make sense for our day-to-day operations. There's not enough clear vision from the corporate level, which really affects morale.
Advice to Management: Spend more time on the actual plant floor and less in conference rooms. Truly listen to the people doing the work, because we often know what's really going on. Improve communication from corporate about future plans.

Production Supervisor

Decent for some, tough for others in milling.
Pros: The pay is solid, especially for the food production industry. You know what you're getting, no surprises on payday. It's stable work, which is a big plus in this corporate environment.
Cons: Work-life balance can be a real struggle, especially as a Production Supervisor in our Denver plant. There's a lot of required overtime and regular shift work, which makes personal life hard to plan. You're definitely onsite a lot.
Advice to Management: Try to find ways to reduce mandatory overtime for supervisors. More consistent scheduling would really help with employee morale and reduce burnout from constant shift work.
