Solid benefits, but the pay could use a bump
Pros: Honestly, the benefits package here is pretty solid. Health, dental, and vision coverage are good, no complaints there. Plus, the retirement matching for a big corporate company like Intact is a nice perk for us in the insurance industry.
Cons: That said, the base salary for a Claims Adjuster, especially in the Toronto office, felt kinda low for how much things cost. Don't expect huge annual raises either; they're usually just okay. The bonus potential isn't really a game-changer.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing base salaries for operational roles like Claims Adjusters, especially in cities like Toronto. Competitive pay would really help keep good people.

Decent work-life if you manage expectations
Pros: I appreciated the hybrid work setup; I could WFH a few days which really helped with commuting to the Toronto office. There's also some flexibility with start and end times, which is pretty solid for a large insurance company.
Cons: Sometimes the workload for claims processing can get really heavy. You can feel pressured to take on more, and it's tough to truly disconnect. It's not uncommon to put in 50+ hour weeks during peak times, which hurts work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better workload distribution for Claims Adjuster roles. Support your teams in setting boundaries and encourage disconnecting after hours. Burnout is a real concern.

Solid Benefits, But Pay Could Be Better for Adjusters
Pros: Honestly, the benefits package here is pretty solid, especially for the insurance industry. The health coverage is decent, and the pension plan is a definite plus. Plus, the hybrid work option is good for life balance.
Cons: But the pay as a Claims Adjuster isn't super competitive, especially in the Toronto office. You really feel it when you look at the workload. Raises are usually pretty small, making it tough to feel like you're earning what you're worth in this corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Consider increasing base salaries for frontline roles like Claims Adjusters. Recognizing the demanding workload would go a long way in retaining talent.
