Solid stability and learning in water technology
Pros: As an Environmental Engineer, I appreciate the supportive colleagues and strong learning opportunities in the water technology industry. The stable environment and hybrid work model contribute to a good work-life balance, making it a decent mid-sized technology firm to work for.
Cons: The main drawback is the slower career progression; promotions don't happen quickly. Also, some internal approval processes can be a bit bureaucratic, which sometimes slows projects down.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining the promotion process and internal approvals to keep employees more engaged and motivated towards career advancement.

Stable role, but career growth is slow
Pros: It's an established corporate player in the water treatment industry. Job security is pretty solid here, which is a big deal. For Project Manager roles, you don't worry about constant layoffs.
Cons: Career growth is really slow at this mid-sized company. Opportunities for moving up, especially in the environmental technology division, are tough to find. Pay is also just decent.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create more transparent career paths and development opportunities for existing employees. It would definitely help with employee retention and morale.

Okay pay, but solid benefits at Aquatech
Pros: The healthcare benefits are really solid, especially for a mid-sized company in the industrial water treatment space. It's nice knowing my family is covered well. The 401k match is also decent, not amazing, but it's there.
Cons: Base salary for Environmental Engineer roles here feels a bit low when you look at similar jobs in the Milwaukee, WI area. It's tough to get a significant raise without a big fight. There aren't many bonus opportunities either, which stings a bit.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the salary bands for engineering roles in the Midwest. Competitors are offering more, especially for experienced talent. Also, consider more regular bonus structures for technical staff.
