Decent Pay, But Benefits Need Work
Pros: Pay here is pretty solid for a Software Engineer, especially considering I'm remote from home. They offer a competitive base salary for most engineering roles. It's good to be paid fairly in the tech industry.
Cons: Benefits are they good? Not really. The health insurance options are just okay, and there isn't much in terms of a 401k match or other perks. I wish they'd improve the dental and vision plans too.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the benefits package, especially health insurance and the 401k match. It would really help with retention in this competitive tech industry.

Decent work-life balance, but it varies.
Pros: Sometimes you can have good WFH days, which helps a lot. The hybrid model in the Austin, TX office offers some flexibility for Software Engineers. You don't always feel chained to your desk, especially outside of big project deadlines.
Cons: Crunch times in software development can get pretty intense, pushing 50+ hours. There's an expectation to respond after hours, which hurts work-life balance. Some managers don't really respect boundaries, making it tough for technical roles.
Advice to Management: Really encourage managers to respect personal time. It would help a lot with burnout, especially during scrum cycles in software development. Try to enforce a 'no emails after 6 PM' policy.

Okay Start for Junior Developers in Austin
Pros: I learned a lot in software development as a junior engineer. The hybrid work model gave me good flexibility. Senior folks were usually helpful with tough coding problems.
Cons: Career growth isn't great past the entry-level. It's tough to get promoted into senior tech roles. There's not much clear guidance for advancement.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion criteria for all engineering levels. Invest more in leadership training for managers, especially those leading technical teams.
