Pros: It's nice to work remote from Denver, CO a few days a week. For most Software Engineer roles, you can often adjust your start time a bit. This helps with personal appointments.
Cons: Meetings can be brutal, making true work flexibility hard sometimes. We're still expected to be online for standard PST hours, even if you're WFH from a different time zone. This impacts my personal life.
Advice to Management: Leadership should rethink the mandatory meeting times. It'd really help WFH employees in different time zones. More autonomy over schedules would boost morale across the engineering team.

Pros: I really liked the collaborative spirit; everyone helps each other out, especially for junior Software Engineer roles. The team building events in the San Francisco office were genuinely fun too. It feels like a tight-knit startup.
Cons: Sometimes the "always on" mentality gets draining, making work-life balance tough for anyone in tech. There's not enough emphasis on disconnecting, and project deadlines often lead to long hours.
Advice to Management: Encourage taking real breaks and setting clearer boundaries around working hours. Support for employee well-being should be more visible and actively promoted.

Pros: I've worked remote from Austin, TX for a while now, and the immediate team is super supportive. My direct manager is solid, always there to help, which is a big plus for software development roles. The company also tries to foster a good culture, even if it doesn't always land.
Cons: The senior leadership team can be pretty inconsistent. They'll announce big strategic shifts, but then things just fizzle out without clear direction. It makes it tough to feel secure about long-term projects, and communication from the top-down isn't always clear or timely.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs to improve their communication strategy significantly. Follow through on initiatives and be more transparent about the 'why' behind decisions for everyone in the startup, especially for engineering teams.
