Pay is Decent, Benefits are Just Okay
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here in the Atlanta, GA office is pretty competitive, which is nice. They've also got a solid 401k match, which definitely helps with long-term planning. It's a big corporate environment, so the pay structure is pretty clear.
Cons: Health insurance premiums feel pretty high, it really cuts into your take-home pay. Beyond the 401k, other benefits are just standard, nothing special for the fintech industry. PTO isn't as generous as I've seen at other places, so that's a bummer.
Advice to Management: Review the health insurance costs and look into offering more competitive PTO. Better benefits could really help with employee retention in this competitive market.

Decent Culture for a Big FinTech Company
Pros: My immediate team, as a Technical Support Analyst, was pretty supportive. The remote work setup from Atlanta is a big plus, offering good flexibility. There's solid camaraderie among peers, especially in FinTech support.
Cons: The big corporate structure sometimes feels slow to change things. There's not always enough recognition for hard work, which can impact morale. It's tough to feel valued in such a large company.
Advice to Management: Try to empower managers to give more timely recognition. It helps a lot with morale, especially in remote teams for enterprise software support.

Leadership needs to step up big time
Pros: I've learned a lot technically working on core fintech solutions. The immediate team I'm on is supportive, and the hybrid model offers some decent flexibility. Good colleagues make a difference.
Cons: Leadership communication is really tough. Decisions feel slow, and there's often conflicting direction from different VPs. It makes daily work as a Software Engineer pretty frustrating.
Advice to Management: Focus on clear, consistent messaging across leadership teams. Empower managers more and really trust their insights from the ground up. This big corporate company could really benefit from it.

Hybrid Model has its Ups and Downs
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid work option for my Software Engineer role. Being able to work remote some days definitely helps avoid the Atlanta traffic. It's nice to have some control over my weekly schedule.
Cons: The mandatory office days can feel pointless when everyone's just on Teams calls anyway. There's not always a clear reason to come in, which makes the commute for someone in the Fintech industry feel wasted. Sometimes the office is just too quiet.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the need for mandatory in-office days. Make them more intentional for team collaboration and less about just showing up. Trust your employees more.

Okay place, but career path can feel stuck.
Pros: The pay is solid, especially for a Software Engineer starting out. You learn a lot about the Fintech industry and retail solutions. The hybrid work model in the Atlanta office was pretty flexible.
Cons: Career growth is definitely a problem here. Promotions for technical roles are slow or nonexistent. It felt like you had to jump ship to get a new title or significant raise. There's not much mentoring for upward mobility.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer paths for career progression. Invest in training and mentorship for Software Engineer roles. It would help retain talent in the Fintech industry.

Culture is a mixed bag here
Pros: Some teams have a genuinely supportive vibe, which is great. You can find really decent folks in the Atlanta office, especially within specific engineering teams working on core fintech solutions. There's a solid sense of camaraderie if your immediate team is good.
Cons: Overall, the corporate environment feels pretty rigid and slow to adapt to new ideas. As a Software Engineer, it's tough to drive new initiatives; there's just so much red tape. The hybrid model makes connecting with everyone tricky, so the company culture often feels fragmented.
Advice to Management: Focus on empowering individual teams more and streamline decision-making. It would really help improve morale and make the company feel less bureaucratic.

Pay and Benefits are Just Okay Here
Pros: The 401k match is pretty solid. It's a decent perk for a big corporate company. As a Software Engineer, the health insurance options are actually quite good.
Cons: Salaries for fintech solutions feel a bit low. We're not competitive with other big tech in Atlanta, GA. Bonuses aren't very transparent. Don't expect huge raises each year.
Advice to Management: Management should review salary bands more often. They need to be competitive in the market.

Hybrid Model Offers Decent Flexibility, But It's Team Dependent
Pros: It's nice that NCR Voyix offers a pretty solid hybrid model, especially for us Software Engineer roles. I've found I can work remote from home a couple of days a week, which is a huge plus for my work-life balance. This helps a lot when you're deep into developing fintech solutions and need focused time.
Cons: However, true flexibility really varies a lot by manager and specific engineering teams. Sometimes you're expected in the Atlanta office more than you'd like, even if your work can be done anywhere. There's not really a full WFH option if you're local, even though it feels like there could be.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize the hybrid policy more across different departments and engineering teams. True flexibility shouldn't be so dependent on individual managers. Trust your employees more with how they manage their time, especially for remote-capable roles.

Culture is a bit of a mixed bag here
Pros: I've met some really smart folks working as a Software Engineer. There's good technical talent, especially in the core payment processing areas. The hybrid model is decent for work-life balance.
Cons: The culture can feel very corporate sometimes. It's tough to get new ideas through the older processes. Too many on-site days required in the Atlanta, GA office for a big corporate company, which feels outdated.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the engineering teams. Modernize the on-site requirements and really foster innovation, not just talk about it. Improve transparency in decision-making.

Leadership has some good, some not so good.
Pros: I've learned a ton in the fintech industry; the technical challenges are solid. My immediate team lead is really supportive, which helps a lot. The hybrid work model is a decent perk too, offering flexibility.
Cons: Upper leadership feels disconnected from day-to-day operations. They make big decisions that sometimes don't make sense for us on the ground. Communication about company direction can be really unclear for Software Engineer roles.
Advice to Management: Senior leadership needs to listen more to the folks doing the actual work. More transparent communication about strategy would really help everyone understand where we're headed. Get closer to the engineering teams.
