Pros: The hybrid work model is a huge plus, offering good flexibility for those in consulting roles. As a Strategy Consultant, I typically work 45-50 hours a week, which is pretty solid for a management consulting firm. There are definitely periods where the company encourages taking time off if you're not on a major client engagement.
Cons: During big strategic initiatives or tight deadlines, your work-life balance pretty much vanishes. It's common for projects to demand late nights and even some weekend work, especially in the Chicago office, which can really impact your personal life. The workload can be unpredictable, making it hard to plan ahead.
Advice to Management: Focus on better project load distribution and resource planning to prevent extreme crunch periods. More predictable schedules would significantly improve employee well-being and reduce burnout.

Pros: It's a mid-sized firm with a really steady client pipeline, especially for core strategy consulting projects. I haven't worried much about layoffs during my time here. They seem to manage resources well.
Cons: While job security is good for experienced folks, entry-level Strategy Consultant roles might see more turnover. Project assignments can be a bit up in the air sometimes, which can feel unsettling.
Advice to Management: Keep focusing on that strong project pipeline and client diversification. It really helps with employee confidence and job security, especially for those in consulting roles.

Pros: The base salary for a Senior Strategy Analyst in the New York City office is pretty solid. Health and dental benefits are also decent, which I appreciate. You won't feel completely undervalued for your time.
Cons: Bonuses aren't as competitive as other management consulting firms in the area. There's not much negotiation room on the initial offer. Raises feel pretty modest after your first year.
Advice to Management: Review the bonus structure and annual raise percentages to be more competitive with top-tier management consulting firms. This would definitely help with retention, especially for high-performing Senior Strategy Analyst roles.
