Pretty good flexibility, but some catches
Pros: I've mostly worked remote as a Software Engineer. The WFH setup is solid. You can often adjust your hours if needed, which is a big plus for personal stuff.
Cons: It's not truly 100% flexible though. Some project deadlines mean long nights, no way around it. Also, they prefer hybrid work for new hires, not fully remote from day one. So, it's not always easy for everyone in the tech industry.
Advice to Management: Be clearer about hybrid vs. remote expectations upfront. Make sure the flexibility applies fairly across all teams, not just a few senior roles. This would help retention for our technical roles.

Decent fintech startup, but culture needs work
Pros: The team in the San Francisco office is generally pretty helpful and collaborative. I've learned a lot about the fintech industry here. People are friendly, and there's a strong sense of community among the junior Software Engineers.
Cons: The company culture feels a bit disorganized sometimes. It's tough to get clear direction, and there's often a lack of transparency from leadership. Hybrid work has made it harder to connect with some teams, and the internal communication tools aren't always effective.
Advice to Management: Work on improving internal communication and transparency. Create clearer career growth paths, especially for engineering roles. Foster more inclusive culture for hybrid workers.
