Great place for design professionals to grow!
Pros: The company culture at MillerKnoll is genuinely collaborative and supportive, which is great for a Product Designer like me. I've had fantastic opportunities to work on exciting new furniture design projects and learn from experienced colleagues. There's a strong focus on innovative design and quality manufacturing, making it an inspiring place for design professionals in the industry. It's a stable company where you feel valued.
Cons: Sometimes, the internal approval processes can feel a bit slow, especially when you're really eager to push new furniture designs forward. While there are definitely career development paths, the promotion process can be a bit slower than I'd like, which is often the case with larger, established manufacturing and design firms.
Advice to Management: Streamline some of the internal approval processes to empower teams to move faster on innovative projects. Also, review the promotion tracks to ensure talented individuals feel their career progression is aligned with their contributions.

Decent work-life balance for designers in Zeeland
Pros: I've had a pretty solid work-life balance here as a Product Designer. Most weeks are a consistent 40 hours in the Zeeland, Michigan office, which is great. The hybrid work model helps a lot with personal appointments.
Cons: Sometimes project deadlines in the furniture design and manufacturing cycle can be brutal, especially for new product launches. It's tough to truly disconnect when you're pushing to get designs through. There's an expectation of being available even after hours during crunch times.
Advice to Management: Consider better staffing or more realistic timelines for critical project phases. It would really help reduce burnout among the design and engineering teams.

Good company, work-life can be a juggle
Pros: The hybrid work setup is a huge plus for me. It offers decent flexibility for Product Designers. Benefits are actually pretty good for a corporate environment.
Cons: Project deadlines in the furniture industry can get intense. Sometimes you just have to work late to meet them. It's not always a consistent 40-hour week.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project workloads to prevent constant crunch times. More predictability would really help.
