Leadership is a bit of a gamble
Pros: As a Packaging Machine Operator, the work is pretty steady. You get solid benefits, which is a big plus for a manufacturing role. The plant in Atlanta, GA always has plenty of orders.
Cons: Some managers really struggle with communication. It's tough to get clear direction on new processes in corrugated packaging sometimes. Turnover in leadership can be high, which affects team stability.
Advice to Management: Upper management needs to invest more in training for new team leads. Better communication and consistency across shifts would really help morale.

Career growth is slow for Production Supervisors
Pros: Job security is solid here for a large manufacturing company in the paper and packaging industry. They've got decent benefits too, and the work is pretty steady. You won't worry about being laid off.
Cons: Career growth is the biggest issue as a Production Supervisor. It's really hard to move up the ladder; there aren't many opportunities. The company doesn't invest much in leadership development for these roles.
Advice to Management: Pratt Industries needs to create clearer career development plans for Production Supervisors. Invest in programs to help people advance, not just stay put.

Decent Stability in Packaging Manufacturing
Pros: Job security is solid here. As a Production Supervisor, I always felt my position was pretty safe, even during shaky economic times. The corrugated packaging industry keeps things steady for onsite work.
Cons: Career growth isn't always clear. For manufacturing roles, you can feel a bit stuck without a clear path forward. Promotions are slow, and sometimes it's more about who you know.
Advice to Management: Try to create clearer career development paths for long-term employees. It's tough to stay motivated when you don't see much upward mobility in the plant environment.
