Decent flexibility, but team dependent
Pros: I appreciate the hybrid work model; it's a solid perk. For Software Engineer roles, we get a couple of WFH days each week. This work flexibility is great when projects aren't super crunched.
Cons: It's tough when project deadlines hit hard. That hybrid flexibility can disappear pretty fast. There's not much room for adjusting daily hours then. Some other teams in the Seoul office seem to have even less WFH option.
Advice to Management: Try to make the work flexibility more consistent. It shouldn't feel like it can be revoked easily. Better communication around WFH policies for all departments, not just engineering, would help.

Decent job security for fintech, but fast pace
Pros: Toss is definitely a growing company in the South Korean financial market. This growth helps create new opportunities. As a Financial Analyst, I felt fairly secure because of my performance.
Cons: While layoffs aren't super common, roles do sometimes change or get re-prioritized pretty quickly. It's still got a bit of that startup vibe, so job security isn't as ironclad as a big corporate bank. The pressure in the securities industry is constant.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate role changes more clearly and give people a heads-up. Help employees see their long-term path within this rapidly evolving fintech space.

Leadership is learning, but it's a fast ride
Pros: You get to work with really smart people in the Seoul office. There's a lot of cutting-edge tech in the financial services space, so as a Software Engineer, you learn a ton. It's a dynamic, startup culture even though it's growing fast.
Cons: Leadership can feel a bit green sometimes, especially when making big product decisions for securities trading. It feels like they're often figuring things out as they go, which can be stressful. Communication often breaks down, making project timelines shift unexpectedly.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer communication from the top down. Invest in leadership training, especially for those in senior positions making critical decisions in the fintech space. Help teams understand the overall vision better to reduce uncertainty.
