Work-life balance is okay, but it's a grind.
Pros: You do get solid benefits. The health insurance is pretty good, and there's a decent 401k match. Plus, the Austin, TX office is really modern and has nice amenities.
Cons: Work-life balance for a Software Engineer here is tough. It's common to work 50+ hour weeks, especially when nearing deadlines. There's not much flexibility, even with the hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Managers really need to prioritize realistic project timelines. Burnout is a genuine concern, and it impacts team morale across all engineering roles.

Eyeline has a decent vibe for a startup
Pros: I've really liked the collaborative spirit here as a Software Engineer. People are generally helpful, and there's a good sense of teamwork. Plus, the hybrid model works well for balancing personal life.
Cons: Sometimes the leadership communication isn't super clear. It can feel a bit cliquey at times, which isn't great for new hires. The "work hard, play hard" motto sometimes leans too much on the "work hard" for a tech startup.
Advice to Management: Work on clearer communication from the top down. Also, make sure to integrate new team members more actively into the company culture.

Leadership is a bit of a mixed bag
Pros: My direct manager was usually solid and supportive, especially helpful for a Software Engineer. We often got decent mentorship for new features and coding challenges. It wasn't all bad on the team level.
Cons: Higher-up leadership, though, often felt pretty disconnected from the engineering teams. Decision-making could be slow, impacting our agile sprints. There wasn't always a clear vision, even with our hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Try to get more in sync with the engineering teams. Better communication from senior leadership would help. A clearer strategy would make things smoother.
