Solid Base for Junior Traders, Bonuses Vary
Pros: The base pay for a Junior Trader here is actually pretty good, especially starting out in the proprietary trading industry. They've got a decent healthcare plan too, which is a plus. If you do well and the financial markets are hot, bonuses can be solid.
Cons: Bonus compensation isn't always clear; it really depends on your individual P&L and the overall firm performance. There's not much transparency into the exact bonus structure, which can be frustrating. You'll work hard, so sometimes the overall comp might feel low compared to the hours if the bonus isn't great.
Advice to Management: Management should really work on making the bonus structure more transparent. It would help a lot with morale and understanding expectations for employees in trading roles. A clearer path to compensation growth would be great.

Work is a Grind, but You Learn
Pros: The pay's pretty good for a new Junior Trader, especially in proprietary trading. You get hands-on experience with financial markets and advanced trading tech really fast. It's a great place to learn, and there are smart folks in the Chicago office.
Cons: Work flexibility is basically non-existent here. You're expected to be onsite all the time, and WFH isn't really an option. As a Junior Trader, expect long hours; it's just the culture, so don't expect much work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to offer even a little more work flexibility or understanding about personal time. It'd help with burnout for traders.
