Pros: The base salary for a Manufacturing Engineer is pretty decent here, especially for the automotive manufacturing industry in Plymouth, MI. You do get some solid health insurance options, which is a big plus. It's a stable, corporate environment with reliable direct deposit.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't great, and raises are super slow. I've seen better 401k matching at other companies, and the PTO accrual feels a bit stingy. For what we do, the overall compensation package just doesn't quite stack up to industry standards.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the bonus structure and 401k matching to be more competitive. It's tough to retain good talent when other companies offer better overall compensation packages for similar roles in the industry.

Cons: The company culture can feel pretty old-school and slow-moving, especially in the Plymouth, MI office. There's not much flexibility for onsite roles; it's mostly a 5-day in-office gig. Innovation outside of product design isn't really encouraged.
Advice to Management: Try to encourage more modern ideas and empower employees below senior leadership. Maybe look at hybrid options for roles that can support it.

Cons: The corporate culture can be very top-down and a bit rigid. As a Quality Engineer, it sometimes feels like new ideas take forever to get approved. There's not much work flexibility, it's mostly onsite.
Advice to Management: Try to empower middle management more. Encourage more bottom-up innovation, especially for us working on the floor daily. A bit more flexibility would go a long way too.
