Junior Videographer

Pay is okay, benefits need a boost
Pros: The health insurance is decent for a smaller video production company, it covers the basics. There's also some flexibility for remote work days, which is nice for our hybrid model in Los Angeles. As a Junior Videographer, the projects are often pretty interesting.
Cons: Honestly, the base salary is pretty low, even for a content creation startup. I feel like I'm underpaid compared to industry standards for this market. Plus, the 401k match is non-existent, which is a real bummer when planning for the future.
Advice to Management: Please re-evaluate the compensation structure and benefits package. Investing more in competitive salaries and a 401k match would really help with employee retention and morale for all roles, especially for those in video production.

Decent work, but job security is a real concern
Pros: The team is pretty chill, which helps. I learned a lot about post-production workflows for digital content as a Junior Video Editor. The hybrid work setup in our Los Angeles office was nice.
Cons: Job security here isn't great, especially for production roles. There's a lot of project-based hiring, so full-time staff often feel expendable. You just don't know what's next.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent about the company's financial health and future plans. It would really help morale for your production crew if there was more clarity around job roles and stability.

Fun culture, but job security is a concern
Pros: The team here is super collaborative, which I loved for film production projects. It's a creative environment, and you get to work on some really interesting visual content. Everyone in the LA office is pretty supportive.
Cons: Job security for Production Coordinator roles here isn't great. They rely heavily on project-based work, so you're often wondering about your next freelance contracts. There's not much long-term stability in this media startup.
Advice to Management: Try to offer more stable, long-term employment options, especially for core roles. It would really help retain talent if there was more clarity around future film production projects and less reliance on purely freelance contracts.
