Huspy has its moments, but balance is a fight
Pros: The team is generally good, and I've learned a ton about the proptech market. You can definitely make good commissions if you hit your targets as a Mortgage Advisor. It's a dynamic place to work in Dubai.
Cons: Work-life balance here is tough. Long hours are pretty standard, and client calls often go late into the evening. It's hard to switch off when there's constant pressure to hit numbers.
Advice to Management: Leaders should really look into promoting better boundaries for their Mortgage Advisors. Constant late-night calls aren't sustainable for long-term employee well-being and retention.

Decent place, but long hours can hit you
Pros: I've learned a ton about the mortgage industry here; there's a lot of growth if you're willing to put in the time. The team is really supportive, and we celebrate wins together. It's a great environment if you're looking to push hard early in your career in this fintech startup space.
Cons: Work-life balance for sales roles like Mortgage Advisor can be tough. Expect to work long hours, often past 6 PM, especially during busy periods. It's hard to switch off completely, and sometimes work spills into weekends, which isn't ideal.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for work hours, especially for client-facing roles in the Dubai office. Encourage taking proper breaks and disconnecting to avoid burnout, especially when scaling quickly.

Okay Balance for a Fast-Paced Startup Role
Pros: Working remotely definitely helps with flexibility, especially being based in Dubai. Our team culture in the mortgage industry is pretty supportive. That makes the tough days easier. It's a true startup environment, so you learn a lot quickly.
Cons: Work-life balance here is okay, but it can be a grind. As a Mortgage Advisor, you're expected to hit aggressive targets. That often means working late or on weekends. Fully switching off is tough with real estate tech demands.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for work hours, especially during non-peak seasons. Recognize and reward hard work without consistently pushing for overtime.

Leadership has good intentions, needs execution
Pros: The leadership team generally has a clear vision for the company and where we're going in the PropTech industry. They're pretty approachable for quick chats in the Dubai office, which is nice for a startup environment.
Cons: Direction changes often for engineering teams without much warning, which makes long-term planning tough for FinTech roles. It's also hard to see consistent follow-through on new initiatives from upper management. This can make teams feel a bit unsupported.
Advice to Management: Focus on consistent communication and empower mid-level managers more. They need better tools and training to support their FinTech engineering teams effectively. Try to stick to strategic plans longer before changing direction again.

Hybrid Model Works for Many Roles
Pros: I've found the hybrid work model helpful, especially as a Mortgage Operations Specialist. It's usually 3 days in the Dubai office, 2 remote, which is good for avoiding rush hour. This is a solid perk for a fast-paced FinTech startup.
Cons: True flexible hours are tough though. My role means I need to be available for client calls, so shifting my schedule isn't really an option. WFH days aren't always truly flexible either if meetings are packed.
Advice to Management: Consider how to offer more truly flexible hours for roles where client interaction isn't strictly time-bound, even within the hybrid framework.

Startup Life: Good Learning, But Growth Is Slow
Pros: I got to work on some cool projects in the mortgage industry. There's a lot of autonomy for engineers to explore new tech. It's a great place to learn if you're new to the UAE market and want startup experience.
Cons: Career growth for a Junior Software Engineer can feel slow. There aren't many structured promotion paths in place. You have to really push for new responsibilities as a tech role.
Advice to Management: Develop clearer career progression frameworks for all roles, especially for tech roles. More mentorship programs would really help junior staff grow faster.

Pay is okay, but benefits need work
Pros: The base salary for a Mortgage Advisor is okay, especially considering it's a startup in the Dubai market. There's potential for good commission if you perform really well in the FinTech space.
Cons: However, the overall benefits package isn't great; it feels pretty basic compared to other fast-growing companies. Hitting those high commission targets in the competitive UAE real estate tech industry can be a real grind.
Advice to Management: Review the benefits package. Better health insurance and maybe some transport allowances would help attract and keep talent in the Dubai market.
