Project Coordinator

Solid place to work, old school culture.
Pros: Working in the Carlisle, PA office, the job security here for Project Coordinator roles is solid; they don't do mass layoffs. You can expect consistent 40-hour weeks, which is good for work-life balance. Benefits are also pretty decent for a large building materials company.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit old-fashioned. There's not much emphasis on innovation or pushing new ideas in this corporate environment. Also, there's limited remote work flexibility, even for roles that could easily be hybrid, which can be tough.
Advice to Management: Try to embrace more modern approaches, especially regarding remote work options. Encourage innovation and empower employees to bring new ideas forward. A more dynamic company culture would help.

Decent place, but career path can be slow.
Pros: Working as a Quality Control Technician here gives you good job security in the construction materials industry. The benefits package, especially healthcare, is pretty solid. They offer some internal training for those in manufacturing roles too.
Cons: Career growth for technical roles, like a Quality Control Technician, is tough. Promotions often take forever, and you really have to fight for new opportunities. It feels like there aren't many clear paths to move up in this corporate environment.
Advice to Management: Management should really focus on creating clearer career development paths for individual contributors, not just for management. Structured mentorship programs, especially for roles in our manufacturing facilities, would help a lot.

Production Supervisor

Leadership is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: It's a pretty stable place to work, especially for a large manufacturing company. My direct supervisor was solid, always available for questions about commercial roofing production. There's decent job security in these production supervisor roles.
Cons: Upper management feels really far removed from daily operations in the Greenville, SC plant. It's hard to get good ideas through, and sometimes their decisions don't make sense on the ground. There's not enough consistent leadership training.
Advice to Management: Listen more to plant-level employees. Invest in developing mid-level managers consistently, not just top brass. Understanding challenges for production supervisor roles could help.
