Culture is decent, but some silos exist
Pros: The team here is generally solid. As a Software Engineer, I found my immediate team in the Dallas office pretty collaborative. We really helped each other out, which made daily software development tasks smoother.
Cons: What about the overall company culture? Sometimes it feels like different dating apps within Match Group operate in their own silos. The hybrid model doesn't always help with cross-team connections, making it tough to build a unified big tech feel.
Advice to Management: Try to connect the different brand teams more. Break down those silos within the dating apps portfolio. Invest more in team building, especially with the hybrid work model, to strengthen the company culture.

Pay is Solid, Benefits Could Be Better
Pros: The base salary for engineering roles is really competitive. Especially if you're experienced, you'll get a good offer. The 401k match is a solid perk. Annual bonuses are pretty clear, too.
Cons: Healthcare options aren't great; they're just standard. For a big tech company, I expected more. PTO isn't as generous as some competitors. Stock options are fine, but not amazing unless you're senior.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at improving healthcare plans. Also, more generous PTO would help attract and keep talent. It's a key area to compete in the tech market.

Decent Job Security for Core Tech Roles
Pros: Job security is pretty solid for established **tech roles** in the **dating app industry**. The company has a strong market position, so core operations feel stable. My team, as a **Data Analyst** in the **Dallas office**, generally felt secure.
Cons: Layoffs can happen, even here. You hear rumors, and it makes you wonder about the long-term. Especially for roles outside of core product development, things can feel a bit shaky sometimes.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about future plans and potential restructuring. It would really help reduce anxiety for employees across all departments, not just product teams.

Growth is okay, but you gotta push for it
Pros: There are definitely chances to work on interesting projects, especially in the dating apps space. If you're proactive, you can pick up new skills. The scale of users on their various platforms is a good learning experience for engineers.
Cons: Formal career paths aren't super clear, which is tough. Sometimes it feels like you're stuck on one product or feature. It's hard to move up without really strong internal networking in the Dallas office, especially for mid-level roles.
Advice to Management: Make career progression paths more transparent. Help managers actively identify growth opportunities for their teams, especially for engineers in more specialized roles. It'd boost morale and retention.
