Solid Pay & Benefits, Good for Remote Work
Pros: The base salary is pretty competitive for a tech startup, especially for remote work in this home services marketplace industry. They've got good health insurance and a decent 401k match. Plus, there's a WFH stipend, which is always nice as a Software Engineer.
Cons: Annual raises aren't huge; sometimes it feels like they don't keep up with inflation. The bonus structure isn't super transparent for individual contributors, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Work on making the compensation review process more transparent, especially regarding annual merit increases and bonuses for Software Engineer roles. Clear communication helps a lot with employee retention.

Okay for career growth if you're proactive
Pros: You get decent exposure to a lot of different problems on the home services marketplace. As a Product Designer, I got to touch many parts of the user journey, which is good experience for your resume. It's a solid mid-sized tech company with interesting challenges.
Cons: Formal career growth is pretty slow, especially for design roles. There aren't many clear paths to promotion, and you have to fight for new responsibilities. WFH means less organic mentorship sometimes.
Advice to Management: Create more defined career ladders, especially for individual contributors. Encourage managers to actively support skill development and internal mobility for remote employees.

Pay is Okay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer is decent, especially for someone remote from Arizona. They've got good health insurance too, which is a relief. Stock options are included, that's pretty standard for marketplace tech.
Cons: The total compensation, even with stock, doesn't quite match bigger tech companies. Don't expect much in the way of unique perks. And honestly, the 401k match is kinda disappointing.
Advice to Management: Consider reviewing compensation bands to be more competitive with top-tier tech companies, especially for remote employees. Improve the 401k matching program.
