Great Place for Software Engineering Career Growth
Pros: I've really enjoyed my time here as a Software Engineer in the tech industry. The team is super supportive, and there are always opportunities to learn new technologies and improve my coding skills. My colleagues are collaborative, which makes project work a lot smoother. I appreciate the focus on continuous learning and the stability this software company provides. It's a great environment for professional development.
Cons: One area for improvement is the internal communication across different departments; sometimes it feels a bit siloed, which can slow down cross-functional projects. Also, the promotion process, while fair, can be a little slower than I've seen at other software development firms, though opportunities are definitely there for those who push for them.
Advice to Management: Continue to invest in employee development and streamline internal communication for project clarity across teams.

Hybrid model is okay, not super flexible
Pros: Getting to work from home a couple of days a week is a solid perk. It helps a lot as a Software Engineer to focus on coding tasks without office distractions. For an enterprise software company, their remote setup is decent.
Cons: The 'hybrid' schedule can be pretty rigid, though. You're still expected in the Seattle office on fixed days, even when there's no real reason. It doesn't always feel like true work flexibility when you can't shift days.
Advice to Management: Give teams more autonomy over their hybrid schedule. Trust employees to decide what works best for their project sprints, not just mandate office days. True work-from-home options would be better.

Leadership is a Mixed Bag Here
Pros: I liked the actual software development work; it's pretty engaging for anyone in the tech industry. Some of the immediate managers are genuinely supportive, which is a plus for a software engineer. The San Francisco office is cool.
Cons: Upper leadership often feels disconnected from daily operations. They make big decisions without much team input, and communication can be pretty spotty. It's hard to trust their direction sometimes.
Advice to Management: Improve transparency with company direction and big strategic changes. Try to foster more open dialogue between senior leadership and individual contributors.

Culture is okay, depends on your team
Pros: My direct teammates were awesome. I really enjoyed working with them as a Software Engineer. The Austin office often has decent social events too. This helps bridge the hybrid work setup.
Cons: The overall company culture feels pretty segmented. There's not much connection outside your immediate group. It makes the mid-sized tech company feel big and impersonal sometimes. Also, leadership could be more visible.
Advice to Management: Try to foster a more cohesive company culture across all departments. The Software Engineer teams often feel isolated from each other and from upper management.
