Pros: As a Fitness Instructor, I could usually pick my main class times. For an onsite role in Austin, TX, the gym operations were pretty solid, so I didn't get bogged down with tons of admin. That's a good perk for the fitness industry.
Cons: Client scheduling and check-ins often spilled into my free time. It really hurt my work-life balance when I felt I had to be available 24/7. Also, finding coverage for group fitness classes could be a nightmare, adding stress.
Advice to Management: Management needs to set clearer boundaries for client communication outside of working hours for instructors. Also, create a more robust system for covering shifts so instructors aren't always scrambling.
