Company Reviews

Companies today are looking for high level performers they can trust, who are diligent, hungry and willing to work, learn and become masters in their trade. At times it feels like finding this domestically is becoming increasingly more difficult, and oftentimes as business owners we find ourselves stuck with employees taking our hard earned gains and not appreciating their compensation.

Further, the time it takes to recruit, source, screen, and hire a high-quality, hardworking professional to truly deliver performance for the business. And the costs involved with hiring someone domestically and getting it wrong are ALOT.

That is why WeAssist provides businesses with top-quality Virtual Assistants and Staff, to help businesses scale and remain profitable.

We have a 9 step hiring process that includes 3 interviews, an assessment test, a personality test, a background check, and even a research paper on the position. Each VA also submits a digital resume and video cover letter.

Decent Startup, But Job Security is a Real Concern
Pros: I've been able to work fully remote from Austin, which is super helpful for my work-life balance. The team is solid, and as a software engineer, I got to learn a lot of new tech. You generally stick to 40-hour weeks, which is decent for a startup.
Cons: The biggest downside is the job security. It feels like projects can get cut or pivot really fast, which impacts tech roles and even customer success roles. There have been a few unexpected layoffs, especially in the last year, which makes you nervous about your future here in the SaaS industry.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more transparency on long-term project viability and communicate staffing changes better. More stability for tech roles would really help morale.

Okay balance for a fast-paced startup
Pros: I appreciate the flexibility of working remote. As a frontend developer, I can usually schedule my day around personal stuff. There's good autonomy if you get your work done.
Cons: Deadlines can be pretty tight, especially with new features. It's an AI startup, so the pace is intense. Sometimes it feels like you're always 'on,' even after hours. Work-life balance isn't always easy.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scopes and set more realistic expectations for timelines. Encourage people to truly disconnect after hours. It would help a lot with burnout in this fast-paced AI industry.
