Pay is fine, but don't expect much more
Pros: The health insurance is decent, and they do have some nice team events. For a mid-sized tech company in Hanoi, Vietnam, the perks are okay, especially early on.
Cons: Base salary for a Software Engineer isn't very competitive, honestly. Raises are slow and hard to get, making significant pay growth tough. It's definitely not Silicon Valley compensation.
Advice to Management: Seriously review the salary bands for all roles, especially for experienced Software Engineers. To attract and retain top talent in the SaaS industry, competitive compensation is crucial.

Decent tech startup, but pay needs work
Pros: The team here is really collaborative, especially for software development projects. You learn a lot from senior engineers. We also get pretty solid health insurance coverage, which is a big plus in Vietnam.
Cons: Honestly, the base salary for a Software Engineer isn't competitive compared to other tech companies in Hanoi. Bonuses are often tied to company performance that feels out of reach sometimes. Don't expect much in terms of raises either, they're pretty minimal.
Advice to Management: Sapo leadership really needs to re-evaluate compensation packages for technical roles, especially for experienced Software Engineers. Staying competitive in the Hanoi tech market is crucial for talent retention. Also, make bonus structures clearer and more achievable.

Growth is okay, but you'll hit a ceiling
Pros: You learn a lot if you're new to an e-commerce platform. There's decent exposure to different parts of the tech stack, especially for junior Software Engineer roles in the Hanoi office. It's a solid place to get your feet wet with SaaS solutions.
Cons: Career growth isn't really structured here. You can learn, but promotions are tough and don't come often for technical roles. There aren't many advanced positions, so for experienced folks, you'll feel stuck pretty quickly.
Advice to Management: Create clearer promotion criteria and invest in more senior technical leadership roles. This would really help with career growth for employees.

Work-Life Balance Is Decent for a Tech Company
Pros: You can usually set your own flexible hours, which is a big plus. The hybrid work model helps a lot for `Software Engineer` roles balancing personal life. It's not a strict 9-to-5, which is good for some.
Cons: Deadlines for `e-commerce software` releases can get pretty intense. Sometimes you're stuck in the `Hanoi office` late. There's not always a clear separation between work and personal time, especially when things ramp up for launches.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic timelines for `e-commerce software` development. It would really help `Software Engineer` teams avoid burnout and maintain a healthier work-life balance.

Decent flexibility for developers, but it varies
Pros: You get some WFH options as a Software Developer, usually 2-3 days weekly. It really helps avoid the crazy Hanoi traffic. The tech industry here often has less flexibility, so it's a plus.
Cons: However, core office hours are pretty strict, making it hard to adjust your schedule. Sometimes there are mandatory onsite days for sprints. This can mess up your work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to loosen core hours a bit more. Trust your engineering teams to manage their time. More robust remote options could really attract top talent in the e-commerce platform space.

Decent Hybrid Model, But Not Truly Flexible
Pros: The hybrid model is decent. You get a few WFH days a week, which is a solid perk. It helps manage personal stuff, especially for us software engineers in the Hanoi office.
Cons: Still, the core expectation is onsite for most of the week. It's not truly flexible if you need more remote work, which can be tough. The leadership often pushes for more in-person time.
Advice to Management: Push for more genuinely flexible work options. Trust your teams more with remote work. It would really boost morale, especially for technical roles in the software development industry.
