Growth is tough at Metrotiles
Pros: The team here is really solid, everyone helps each other out. The 'hybrid work' model for the Dallas, TX office is a decent perk. You get good exposure to the tile industry if you're new.
Cons: There's not much clear 'career growth' if you're in an operational role like a 'Project Coordinator'. Internal promotion paths aren't very visible, so you can feel stuck. Opportunities for advancement are limited.
Advice to Management: Create clear development programs and promotion tracks, especially for those in individual contributor roles. Invest in skills training to help people move up.

WFH is tough, but they try a bit
Pros: It's nice that they're pretty chill about office hours if you're stuck in traffic for your daily commute to the Dallas, TX office. You can usually shift your start/end times by an hour without too much fuss, which helps with personal appointments.
Cons: Don't expect much work-from-home (WFH) for a Sales Associate role. For this tile manufacturing and distribution industry, it's very much an onsite culture. There's no real hybrid option even for administrative staff, which feels a bit old school.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into hybrid work options, even if it's just a few days a month for specific roles. It's tough to attract and retain talent in this market without some WFH flexibility.

Okay Company, but Work Flexibility is Lacking
Pros: You do get some decent benefits, and the team in the Chicago, IL office is generally supportive. Some back-office roles might have more hybrid work options than client-facing positions. It's a stable company in the construction materials industry.
Cons: There's not much work flexibility for sales roles like mine. You're expected to be onsite five days a week, which makes it hard for personal appointments. Hybrid work feels more like a suggestion than a real policy for most.
Advice to Management: Seriously consider implementing more robust hybrid work options for all roles, especially for Sales Coordinators and other client-facing staff. Trust your employees more with remote work when possible.
