Decent flexibility if you're onsite in Long Beach
Pros: You get some flexibility for appointments, which is good. My team in the Long Beach office has a decent hybrid model sometimes. It's not a strict 9-5 if you manage your tasks as a Software Engineer.
Cons: Full remote options are pretty rare for engineering roles, especially for rocket development. It's mostly an onsite or hybrid role, which can be tough. The official policy feels a bit behind modern standards.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible work arrangements for roles that don't absolutely require constant onsite presence. It could help with retention for Software Engineer positions.

Great Vision, Sometimes Disconnected Leadership
Pros: I loved working on actual rocket components; it's super cool to see a project go from CAD to actual rocket launches. The top leadership team, especially Peter Beck, has a strong, clear vision for the company's future in the aerospace industry. It feels good to be part of something big.
Cons: Middle management often feels stretched thin and doesn't always get the support they need from higher-ups. This makes things tough for us, as a Manufacturing Engineer, when production issues come up. Decision-making can be slow for day-to-day operations in the Long Beach office.
Advice to Management: Empower middle management more and give them the resources to make faster decisions. Improve communication channels between executive leadership and the operational teams, especially for onsite work at the production facilities.

Decent for Space Industry, Job Security is Mixed
Pros: Being part of the space industry is really cool, working on Electron rocket components. You learn a ton fast as an aerospace engineer. The team is passionate, and it's exciting work at a growing company.
Cons: Job security can feel pretty unstable sometimes. Project priorities for the Long Beach office change quickly. It makes you wonder about the long-term plan in this startup environment.
Advice to Management: Try to provide more transparency on project lifecycles and potential impacts on roles. It'd really help ease concerns about job security, especially when things shift rapidly.
