Okay place, but job security is a worry
Pros: The compensation is competitive for tech roles, and the benefits package is solid. I really appreciated the collaborative environment among engineers in the Redwood City office. People are generally smart and helpful.
Cons: Job security isn't its strong suit, especially compared to some other big tech companies. There's always talk about layoffs, and it makes you nervous. It feels like the company is constantly restructuring, which can be unsettling for long-term career planning.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about company direction and avoid frequent reorganizations. It helps people feel more secure in their roles.

Okay WFH for engineers, but not fully remote
Pros: I really liked the flexibility for my Software Engineer role. They have a decent hybrid model, letting you work remote from home a few days a week. It helps a lot with my commute to the Redwood City office.
Cons: It's not truly flexible across the board. Some teams definitely push for more onsite days, making full WFH tough. You also can't just pick up and work from anywhere, there are state limitations for full remote workers.
Advice to Management: Give more autonomy to teams on their hybrid schedules. Standardize remote work policies more consistently across different departments, especially for those in core engineering roles.

Leadership can be a mixed bag here
Pros: Some individual managers are genuinely great; they really support their teams. There's also good access to technical leadership for specific project guidance. It's nice to work on a product like cloud content management that's used by so many.
Cons: High-level leadership feels pretty disconnected from the daily grind for us engineers. Strategic shifts happen too often without clear communication, which makes it tough to plan long-term work. It feels a bit like a corporate environment where big decisions are slow.
Advice to Management: Try to get more grounded with what individual teams and Senior Software Engineers are actually doing. Clearer strategic vision from the top would help everyone.
