Decent tech, slow career growth for engineers
I worked as a Software Engineer for a few years, mostly remote from Texas. It's a solid mid-sized tech company with interesting products in data search and observability. Learning opportunities are there, but don't expect rapid promotions.
You get to work with cutting-edge tech in the cloud computing space, especially around data search. There's plenty to learn if you're proactive. It's a great place for new grads or those wanting to dive deep technically without much pressure for a management track early on.
Career progression for Software Engineer roles can feel pretty slow. There aren't clear promotion paths, and you often need to actively seek out new responsibilities. This can be tough if you're looking for quick vertical movement within a mid-sized tech company.
Leadership needs to define clearer career paths for individual contributors, especially for engineering roles. Make it transparent what's required for promotions.
