Solid base, but perks are lacking
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty competitive for a startup in the São Paulo office. They do offer a decent health plan, which is a big plus. It's a growing tech company, so there's potential, even if it's not fully realized in the benefits yet.
Cons: Beyond the base, benefits aren't super generous. I've found stock options to be minimal, especially compared to bigger tech. There's not much in terms of performance bonuses either, which is tough. Retirement contributions could definitely use an upgrade in this industrial IoT sector.
Advice to Management: Consider enhancing the overall benefits package beyond just salary. More generous equity options and better retirement matching would really make a difference for employee retention. Looking at what larger tech companies offer could provide good benchmarks.

Startup life is tough, but good work
Pros: I liked the challenges for a Software Engineer. The team is really smart, and you get to work on interesting projects in industrial IoT. Remote work from Brazil was also a big plus for me.
Cons: Work-life balance here is often a struggle. Expect longer hours, especially when approaching product launches. Sometimes the demands felt pretty unrealistic for a small startup team.
Advice to Management: Try to set more realistic project timelines. Burnout is a real concern, and it's something leadership needs to address to keep good people.
