Calm is good, but job security feels shaky
Pros: The mission behind the mental wellness app is genuinely inspiring. The remote work flexibility is amazing for a WFH setup, it's a huge plus. As a Software Engineer, you get to work on interesting challenges.
Cons: Job security isn't great, especially after recent layoffs in the digital health sector. It feels like a tech startup, so things can change fast. You're always wondering what's next for your specific engineering role.
Advice to Management: Management needs to be more transparent about the company's financial health and future plans. It would really help reduce anxiety around job security for employees.

Remote Work-Life Balance is Okay at Calm
Pros: I've been a Software Engineer working remote for a while now. The company really pushes well-being, which is cool for a wellness tech company. You do get decent flexibility with your schedule.
Cons: It's tough when big project deadlines hit; you can feel the pressure. Sometimes the lines between work and home get blurry, which isn't great for your personal time. This is pretty common for a fast-paced startup.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage the scope of projects and communicate expectations more clearly. It would help remote teams especially maintain healthier boundaries.
