Decent Benefits, Pay Could Be Better
Pros: The pension scheme is actually quite solid, especially for a large corporation. You also get good health insurance, which is a big relief for many of us. Their overall benefits package is a strong point in the telecommunications industry.
Cons: The base salary for a Software Engineer in the London office feels just average for the market. Raises don't keep pace with inflation, which is tough. There's not much room to negotiate salary when you start.
Advice to Management: Review salary bands for technical roles in London. Better pay progression would help retain talent and boost morale across the board.

Decent Hybrid Work, But Inconsistent
Pros: The hybrid work model was a lifesaver, letting me work remote from home a few days a week. For technical roles like mine, it cut down on the tough London commute quite a bit. That flexibility really helped balance my personal life.
Cons: Sometimes, even with hybrid work, I felt pulled into the London office for unnecessary meetings. It wasn't always consistent, and some managers were stricter about on-site days than others. This made planning personal things a bit tricky.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid work policy across all departments, especially for technical roles in the telecoms industry. Give managers clear guidelines and empower them to truly support remote options without constant last-minute office requests.

Hybrid work is decent, but has limits
Pros: I've been able to maintain a good hybrid work schedule, usually 2-3 days in the London office. For Service Delivery Manager roles, the flexible hours are a real plus, especially managing customer issues. The WFH policy is solid when things are quiet.
Cons: Sometimes getting approval for full remote work for telecommunications projects is tough, even if it's just administrative tasks. There's not much flexibility for shifting core hours much, which can be annoying. You're still expected to be online during standard corporate hours.
