Onsite for chemical manufacturing means low flexibility
Pros: For Process Engineer roles at the Charleston, TN site, the onsite schedule is pretty consistent. You know what hours you're working in chemical manufacturing, which is decent for planning your personal life around work.
Cons: Don't expect much work-from-home or hybrid options here. It's an onsite job, especially for plant operations, so true work flexibility is really limited. Trying to adjust your hours for personal appointments can be tough.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more hybrid options for roles that aren't strictly tied to immediate plant operations. Even one WFH day a week could really boost morale for some of us.

Onsite only, but work is steady
Pros: For a Process Engineer here, the work is pretty consistent. You know your daily tasks, which helps with planning. There's good job security in the chemical manufacturing sector, which is a big plus.
Cons: Work flexibility here is almost non-existent for onsite roles. Don't expect much WFH or hybrid options, even for desk work. It's tough if you have appointments or need to adjust your schedule outside of standard hours.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more flexible work arrangements for roles that don't require constant physical presence. It would really help retain talent.

Okay for stability, not much room to grow
Pros: It's a solid place to learn the ropes, especially for new Process Engineer roles. You get exposed to a lot in the chemical manufacturing industry. The onsite work means you really understand the plant.
Cons: Career progression here feels pretty slow. There aren't many opportunities to move up or switch departments. Lateral moves are rare, and you can get stuck doing the same thing for years.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer paths for career development. Invest more in internal training and skill-building programs. Encourage cross-departmental projects to give people more exposure and opportunities.
