Pros: As a Software Engineer, I've found my immediate manager to be pretty solid. They're good at guiding on SaaS platform development and generally supportive. The remote work arrangement offers great flexibility.
Cons: Upper leadership decisions can feel pretty disconnected from our day-to-day work. Sometimes it's hard to see the big picture strategy. There isn't always a clear path for career growth beyond your direct team.
Advice to Management: Work on making executive decisions more transparent for all employees. Help managers provide clearer career paths and development opportunities for individual contributors.

Pros: The job security is actually pretty good here, especially for engineering roles. Workiva is well-established in the SaaS industry, so they're not going anywhere soon. We've got pretty solid benefits too, which is a big plus.
Cons: Growth can feel slow sometimes. It's not a hyper-growth startup, so don't expect rapid promotions. The corporate environment can feel a bit sluggish, too, compared to smaller tech companies.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up career progression paths for individual contributors. It would help retain talent.

Pros: The best part is definitely the people; they're genuinely smart and friendly. I also appreciate the solid remote setup for engineering teams; it makes managing my day easy. We get to work on interesting challenges within the financial reporting platform.
Cons: The company culture has shifted a lot since the early days. It feels much more corporate now, not the dynamic SaaS company I joined. Sometimes it's tough to get recognition as a remote software engineer when you're not in an office.
Advice to Management: Try to get back to what made Workiva special early on. Don't lose that startup vibe completely as you grow into a larger corporate entity.
