Pros: As a Financial Analyst, I appreciate the hybrid work policy. It's a step up for a large corporate energy company. We get designated WFH days, which helps with avoiding the daily Houston commute sometimes.
Cons: True flexibility isn't quite there yet though. We have mandatory onsite days, so you can't really choose when to come in. For some roles, it feels like it's still very old-school in the oil and gas industry.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible options beyond fixed hybrid schedules. Empower teams to decide what works best for their workflow, especially for roles that aren't tied to physical assets.

Pros: For a large energy company, ConocoPhillips offers pretty solid job stability in the Houston office. Essential roles in the oil and gas industry tend to ride out smaller market dips. They don't do massive, sudden layoffs often.
Cons: Still, it's the oil and gas industry. When commodity prices really tank, there's always a fear of restructurings or job cuts. You can't ever be too comfortable as a Financial Analyst here.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate more transparently during market downturns. Uncertainty really impacts morale and job security fears can be distracting.
