Decent Pay, Benefits Need Some Attention
Pros: As a Software Engineer working remote from Austin, the base salary here is pretty competitive for a startup. They do offer equity, which is nice. The compensation for data engineering roles generally feels solid.
Cons: However, the benefits package isn't great. Health insurance options are just okay, and out-of-pocket costs can be high. The PTO policy could definitely be more generous.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the health insurance offerings. A more robust PTO plan would also be a huge morale booster.

Pretty solid for remote work, mostly.
Pros: I've been a remote Data Engineer here for a while. The work-from-home policy is great; I can set my own hours most days. It really helps with personal appointments and managing my schedule.
Cons: Sometimes it's tough coordinating with folks in different time zones. Not everyone respects your core hours, especially for critical data orchestration tasks. It can feel like your day never really ends when meetings span too many time zones.
Advice to Management: Encourage teams to be more mindful of different time zones when scheduling meetings, especially for technical roles like Data Engineers. Maybe implement more strict 'no meeting' blocks for certain regions.
