Decent flexibility for a big corporate manufacturer
Pros: I appreciated that as a Process Engineer, there was some understanding for appointments. You could usually shift your start time by an hour if needed. For a company in the manufacturing industry, that's actually pretty good.
Cons: True remote work isn't really an option for most roles, especially in the Gastonia, NC plant. It's mostly onsite, so don't expect a lot of WFH. This can make work-life balance a bit tough sometimes.
Advice to Management: Try to find more ways to offer flexible hours, even just small shifts, for plant-based roles. It would help a lot with retention.

Decent place, but watch the workload
Pros: You generally get your 40 hours in, which is good for family time. They offer decent benefits, and the job security in the filtration industry feels pretty solid. My team in the Gastonia, NC office is great.
Cons: As a Process Engineer, you're often stretched thin across multiple projects. Sometimes it feels like there's always an urgent issue in manufacturing operations. You can get pulled in late, which really impacts work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Try to staff project teams better. Support for Process Engineers is needed, especially during peak production times to avoid burnout.

Solid, not stellar, work-life balance for engineers
Pros: For an Applications Engineer, the typical work week is pretty standard, usually 40-45 hours. You don't often find yourself working late nights, which is good for personal time. As an automotive supplier, project deadlines are firm but usually planned well in advance.
Cons: Work-life balance can get tough during big project launches or when unexpected issues pop up with filtration products. There's not much work-from-home flexibility for onsite engineering roles in Gaston County, NC. It's a very corporate feel, so sometimes innovation moves slowly.
Advice to Management: Management should look into offering more hybrid options for roles that can support it. Better project forecasting could also help reduce unexpected crunch times for engineering teams.
