Pros: I've really enjoyed my time as a Project Manager here. The teams are truly collaborative, and it's great to work with such knowledgeable colleagues. You get to work on diverse industrial tech projects, which keeps things interesting. The hybrid work setup in our Atlanta, GA office provides a good balance, and there are decent learning opportunities, especially if you're proactive about professional development. It feels like a stable place to build a career in this global company.
Cons: While the job security is good, career progression, especially promotions, can sometimes feel a bit slow or require a lot of advocacy. Some of the internal approval processes are quite bureaucratic and can delay project timelines, which can be frustrating. Also, some of the legacy systems we use occasionally feel outdated compared to newer tools in the industrial software space. Communication across larger teams could also be more streamlined.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining the promotion process and improving internal communication. Investing in modernizing some of the legacy systems would also boost efficiency for Project Managers and other technical roles. Empowering teams to make quicker decisions on smaller issues could really help with project velocity.
