Company Summary

Company Reviews

Tessell is redefining the future of enterprise data infrastructure with an AI-native, multi-cloud database-as-a-service (DBaaS) platform built for both transactional and analytical workloads. In a world where data is fragmented across clouds, tools, and teams, Tessell unifies the full lifecycle of database management into a single, intelligent control plane. By combining automated provisioning, AI-driven optimization, zero-downtime operations, and conversational data management (CoDaM), Tessell empowers enterprises to modernize at scale—without complexity or lock-in.

Unlike traditional database platforms that require extensive tuning, licensing, and DevOps overhead, Tessell delivers a seamless experience that reduces costs by up to 45% and increases performance by over 50%. Its support for open-source engines (like PostgreSQL and MySQL), coupled with native integrations across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and OCI, gives organizations the flexibility and power to run data-intensive applications anywhere.

Tessell is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and digital-native enterprises alike to power mission-critical applications, accelerate cloud adoption, and enable real-time, AI-driven decision-making. Backed by leading investors including WestBridge Capital and Lightspeed, and having recently raised a $60M Series B, Tessell is rapidly scaling its vision to make data management conversational, intelligent, and universally accessible. In short, Tessell is building the future of cloud-native data ecosystems.

Solid Health Benefits, Pay is Just Okay for Remote Work
Pros: The health benefits are pretty solid for a startup; I've had no issues there. They do offer a 401k match, which is a nice perk for a smaller company. For someone working remote, the stability of these benefits is a big plus.
Cons: Base salary for a Software Engineer is on the lower end compared to big tech, even within the data management industry. The equity package is decent but it's illiquid, which is tough. Don't expect huge bonuses or lots of unique perks.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into making base salaries more competitive. It's tough to attract and keep top talent for specialized roles in the data management industry when other companies offer significantly more cash. More transparent equity valuations would also help.
