Okay for data, but work-life can be tough.
Pros: You'll learn a ton about data analytics as a Data Analyst, especially with the consumer insights they collect. The benefits package is pretty decent. They've got a good hybrid model in the New York City office, which helps with flexibility.
Cons: Work-life balance here is a real challenge sometimes. Project deadlines for media measurement are often tight, and it's not unusual to work long hours. You can't always just log off at 5 PM, which gets draining.
Advice to Management: Managers need to actively encourage better work-life boundaries. Support the hybrid model more consistently and help teams manage project loads so people aren't constantly working overtime.

Nielsen's hybrid model is pretty solid
Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus here. We get two WFH days a week, which is great for avoiding the NYC commute. It's pretty consistent across different teams, even for Data Analyst roles handling lots of market research projects. That flexibility really helps with work-life balance when you're not stuck in the office five days.
Cons: Sometimes the 'flexible' part feels more like a suggestion, especially when project deadlines hit. There's not much wiggle room if you need extra WFH days beyond the standard two, even for personal appointments. It can be tough when you're deep into a consumer insights report and management suddenly needs you onsite for a quick meeting.
Advice to Management: Give teams more autonomy on WFH days, especially for roles like data analysts. A little more understanding for ad-hoc flexibility would go a long way. Trust your employees more.

Work-life balance is a bit of a gamble
Pros: You can get some decent work-from-home days with the hybrid model, which is a big plus for work flexibility. For a big corporate company in market intelligence, the base benefits are solid, and some teams are genuinely good about setting boundaries during slower periods.
Cons: The work-life balance often goes out the window during crunch times for consumer data projects. As a Research Associate, I've seen expectations for being 'on' constantly. It's tough to disconnect when project deadlines are tight and the workload feels endless in the New York City office.
Advice to Management: Leaders need to better manage project scope and client expectations. More realistic timelines for market research projects would help protect employees' personal time and prevent burnout. Encourage teams to actually use their PTO.
